Chinese officials say the deputy minister of the country’s top intelligence agency is under investigation as part of a sweeping government crackdown on corruption.
In a statement on Friday, the ruling Communist Party’s anti-graft watchdog said Ma Jian, vice minister of State Security, is under investigation for suspected serious violation of disciplines and laws.
The wording typically refers to investigations into graft. The agency did not give further details.
