According to authorities from the Lhasa’s public transport company, more than 70 new energy buses have already been put into operation in Lhasa City. Another 147 new energy buses will be used within this week, which is believed to promote the green on the trip.

It is introduced that there are already 388 buses running 30 city bus lines in Lhasa. However, according to the city bus standard, 12 buses for 10 thousand people, Lhasa needs to make up a 92 shortfall in the number of buses. Especially, such buses as 16-way, 18-way, 24-way and others carrying big flow of passengers are always not in sufficient quantities to satisfy citizen’s demand, which causes long bus waiting tone, drive-in crowed and other problems.

In order to provide a comfortable traffic condition and protect the environment, 147 new energy buses including gas-electric hybrid ones and pure electric ones are planned to be operated this year. Among these, 55 existing buses will be retrofitted and 92 are going to fill the gap of quantity, which will satisfy the citizens’ demand on public traffic. Recently, 71 new energy buses of which there are 69 gas-electric hybrid ones and 2 pure electric ones have been run.
