China assures support to Nepal in Constitution implementation

KATHMANDU: Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yu Hong on Tuesday said China was always ready to support Nepal in Constitution implementation.

In a meeting with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal in Kathmandu this morning, the envoy said the Nepal-China relationships so far had been very cordial and development projects in Nepal being carried out with Chinese support had been moving ahead positively.

She also made a commitment to expedite the projects further.

Meanwhile, the Chinese Ambassador also expressed her concerns about the local elections scheduled for May 14.

In response, Dahal said the government was committed to holding the polls as scheduled and it had expected Chinese support towards the same end.

Earlier, the Prime Minister had thanked China for its continuous support to development initiatives in Nepal.

He was of the view that implementation of bilateral agreements related to the development of connectivity and infrastructures had been effective of late.
