BEIJING, Sept. 10 (Xinhuanet) — A Tibetan cultural exchange group is wrapping up a trip to Russia, arranged by the Chinese State Council.

During their stay, the group met with the head of Russia’s parliamentary committee for Public and Religious Organization, and scholars from institutes including the Russian Academy of Sciences and Tuvan State University.

They also held seminars and talks with Tibetan Buddhism practitioners from Tuva — which is a Russian republic where Tibetan Buddhism is widely practiced.

The visit comes as China marks Tibet’s 50th anniversary as an autonomous region. The delegation will go on to visit Mongolia.
