Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic met on Monday with Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Li Manchang.

They discussed “concrete steps to increase the number of Chinese tourists in Serbia,” the Serbian government said on its website, citing a statement issued by Ljajic’s cabinet

Li has been quoted as saying that he “expects a direct air link between the two countries to be introduced this year, which, together with the abolition of visas for Chinese citizens is the most important step in the direction of a significant increase in the number of tourists from China in Serbia.”

Li said that a Chinese state television crew will soon visit Serbia to shoot a series of tourist potentials of our country.

Ljajic and Li “agreed to organize a meeting in Belgrade with the relevant ministers of Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Macedonia about a joint appearance of the region on the tourism market of China.”
