Indo-Nepal joint military exercise to be held in Nepal in Oct-Nov

LUCKNOW: An initial planning conference for the Indo-Nepal combined military training exercise Surya Kiran-X was held at Headquarter Surya Command on Tuesday. A delegation from Nepal comprising three Army officers arrived in Lucknow.

The delegates interacted with Lieutenant General Balwant Singh Negi, Army Commander of Central Command and carried out discussion with the Indian delegation on issues related to coordination, conduct and training aspects of the exercise.

The exercise Surya Kiran X will be held in Nepal from October 31 to November 13. An infantry battalion of the Panchshul Brigade of the Surya Command is earmarked for the exercise. The previous Exercise Surya Kiran IX was held at Pithoragarh fromFebruary 8 to 21 in which infantry battalions from both the countries had participated.
