A landslide blocked a major highway linking Tibet Autonomous Region in southwest China with Sichuan Province on Wednesday, stranding more than 100 people.
Rocks covered about 50 meters of the Qamdo section of the Tibet-Sichuan highway.
About 20 rescuers, driving excavators, have arrived to clear the road, and they have evacuated the stranded people.
They said the rugged nature of the area, which has been hit by heavy rain, is making their work difficult.
