More than 40 people have been killed in landslides in south-west China and northern India.
Officials said 20 people were killed after a huge landslide (left) swept through a village in China’s Guizhou province last Friday.

Hundreds die every year in floods and landslides during the monsoon season in South Asia. In 2013, nearly 6,000 people, including pilgrims and tourists, were killed by floods and landslides caused by early monsoon rains in Uttarakhand which also destroyed scores of villages and towns.
