Union minister of state for home affairs Kiren Rijiju has promised to initiate measures to provide road connectivity to all villages of Arunachal Pradesh by 2019.
The promise was made when parliamentary secretary Markio Tado called on Rijiju at his office in New Delhi on Tuesday.
During his meeting with Rijiju, Tado briefed him about the road communication problems of Tali assembly constituency, especially Tali ADC headquarters and Pipsorang circles.
While iterating the fact that Tali was established in 1957 during NEFA period under political officer P N Kaul, Tado emphasized that these critical administrative points had remained unconnected with the rest of the state for 57 years, an official release said here on Wednesday.
He informed Rijiju that lack of road connectivity to Tali had resulted in large-scale migration of local population to different towns of the state like Itanagar, Naharlagan etc mainly because of lack of health, education and other basic facilities.
Tado appealed to the Union minister to take urgent measure to connect the Pipsorang circle and to give priority to the ongoing road from Chetam to Pipsorang under additional BADP schemes and also the India-China border road from Damin to Lemiking via Pipsorang Circle to facilitate connectivity for the people of this landlocked area.
The parliamentary secretary also told Rijiju that Yangte to Tali Road, the lone road connecting the Tali ADC headquarters, which serves as the lifeline for the people of Tali and Pipsorang, would require improvement along with realignment.
Both Rijiju and Tado discussed in details the accessibility points to these areas and explored the scope for giving immediate road connectivity.
Tado mentioned that it was in the greater interests of the socio-economic development of Tali that the connectivity issues should be addressed on priority basis which would check migration of populations to other parts of the state.
Rijiju promised Tado that he would look into the issues and requested the latter to come with necessary detailed project reports through proper channel, the release added.
