YEKATERINBURG, July 13. /TASS/. Russia’s and China’s prime ministers are scheduled to meet at the end of 2016, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said at a gathering of governors from Russia’s regions, China’s provinces and senior corporate officials from both countries.

“A meeting between our prime ministers is set to take place soon, most likely, at the end of the year and it will be held in Russia,” he said.

Rogozin added that that a full-fledged meeting of the bilateral intergovernmental commission will convene prior to the prime ministers’ year-end gathering. “Mr. Wang Yang (the Vice Premier of China’s State Council) and I will hold it in Moscow where we have not gathered for a long time,” he said. “We have kept an amicable tradition of inviting each other to get acquainted with the regions of Russia and China, so Mr. Wang Yang and I travel a lot.”

The 20th regular meeting of Russia’s and China’s heads of government took place in Beijing in December 2015. Medvedev invited his Chinese counterpart to meet in Russia in 2016.

The Russian prime minister added that that he considers the mechanism of regular meetings between the prime ministers of Russia and China that has been in effect for 20 years to be efficient. Every such meeting ends with the signing of sets of important documents.

According to Medvedev, Russia and China have plans to increase their bilateral trade turnover to $200 bln by 2020. To this end, “it is necessary to make progress in all areas that we have chosen for ourselves.”.
