Tibet Chamber of Tourism Inaugurated in Lhasa

On August 24, Tibet Chamber of Tourism (TCT) was established in Lhasa, the capital of Tibet Autonomous Region. Ngapoi·Jinyuan, the vice chairman of Tibet regional Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPC) and the chairman of Tibet Federations of Industry and Commerce, Wang Ping, the chairman of China Chamber of Tourism attended the ceremony.

TCT is a provincial branch of China Chamber of Tourism. China Chamber of Tourism directly under the administration of China Federations of Industry and Commerce. It has made great contribution to the development privately operated tourism industry. The member of China Chamber of Tourism involves many fields concerning tourism industry, such as hotels, travel agencies, scenic spots, transportation, restaurants, etc. TCT was launched by 30 privately operated tourism enterprises in Tibet and established under the support of the government. It is approved by the Tibet Federation of Industry and Commerce, Tourism Bureau and the Civil Affairs Department of Tibet.

The establishment of TCT will provide a new platform for the privately operated tourism enterprises of communication, safeguarding rights and financing. The TCT will serve as an bridge among tourism enterprises in order to build Tibet an important “world class tourist destination”, and maintain the healthy and sustainable development of Tibet’s tourism industry.
